Managing Your Account#

This guide covers everything about your MenuM8 account - from creating it to managing settings, users, and security.

Creating Your Account#

Sign-Up Process#

  1. Navigate to the MenuM8 website
  2. Click Sign Up or Get Started
  3. Enter your email address and create a password
  4. Choose your plan (Basic, Pro, or Enterprise)
  5. Accept Terms of Service
  6. Click Create Account

Email Verification#

  1. Check your inbox for a verification email
  2. Click the verification link
  3. You'll be redirected to MenuM8

Check Spam: If you don't see the email within a few minutes, check your spam/junk folder.

Initial Setup#

After verification, configure your account:

  • Currency: GBP, USD, EUR, or THB
  • Language: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, or Thai

Logging In and Out#

Logging In#

  1. Go to the MenuM8 website
  2. Click Login or Sign In
  3. Enter your email and password
  4. Click Log In

Session Management#

  • Sessions remain active while you're using MenuM8
  • Remember Me: Keeps you logged in for ~30 days (only use on personal devices)
  • Sessions expire after extended inactivity

Logging Out#

  1. Click your profile icon (top-right)
  2. Select Log Out

Always log out on shared or public computers.

Login Troubleshooting#

Password Management#

Forgot Password#

  1. Click Forgot Password on the login page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check email for reset link (check spam if not received)
  4. Click the reset link
  5. Create a new password
  6. Log in with your new password

Reset links expire after 1-24 hours. Request a new link if expired.

Changing Your Password#

When logged in:

  1. Go to AccountSecurity
  2. Click Change Password
  3. Enter current password
  4. Enter new password (twice)
  5. Click Update Password

Password Requirements#

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers
  • Include special characters (@, #, $, etc.)

Account Settings#

Currency Settings#

MenuM8 supports:

  • GBP (British Pound) - £
  • USD (US Dollar) - $
  • EUR (Euro) - €
  • THB (Thai Baht) - ฿

To change currency:

  1. Go to Account settings
  2. Select your currency from dropdown
  3. Click Save

No Auto-Conversion: Changing currency doesn't convert existing prices. A £5 input becomes $5, not the converted amount. Update prices manually.

Time Unit Settings#

Set the base time unit for labour calculations:

  • Minutes (most common)
  • Hours

This affects how you enter labour time in costings and how it displays in reports.

Data Export#

Export your data from AccountData Export:

  • Inputs (ingredients)
  • Products (recipes)
  • Costings
  • Suppliers

Account Deletion#

To delete your account:

  1. Go to Account settings
  2. Find Delete Account
  3. Read warnings carefully
  4. Confirm deletion

Permanent: Account deletion is irreversible. Export your data first.


Users and Permissions#

User Roles#

MenuM8 has two roles:

Account Owner:

  • Created the account
  • Full access to everything
  • Manages billing and subscriptions
  • Can invite and remove users
  • Only one owner per account

Member:

  • Invited by the owner
  • Can work with data (inputs, products, costings)
  • Cannot access billing settings
  • Cannot manage users

Inviting Users (Owner Only)#

  1. Go to AccountUsers
  2. Click Invite User
  3. Enter their email address
  4. Send invitation
  5. User receives email and creates their password

Removing Users#

  1. Go to AccountUsers
  2. Find the user
  3. Click Remove
  4. Confirm

Data created by the user remains in the account.

Language Settings#

Available Languages#

MenuM8 supports 6 interface languages:

  • English (en)
  • German - Deutsch (de)
  • Spanish - Español (es)
  • French - Français (fr)
  • Italian - Italiano (it)
  • Thai - ไทย (th)

Changing Language#

  1. Go to Account settings
  2. Find Language section
  3. Select your language
  4. Click Save
  5. Interface updates immediately

What Gets Translated#

Translated:

  • Buttons, menus, labels
  • Error messages and notifications
  • Help documentation

Not Translated:

  • Your data (product names, ingredient names, notes)
  • Content you entered

Multi-Language Teams: Each user can set their own language preference. The interface appears in each user's chosen language while everyone works with the same data.

Language in Reports#

  • Report headers and labels appear in your interface language
  • Your data (product names, etc.) appears as you entered it

Security Best Practices#

For All Users#

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Never share your login credentials
  • Log out on shared devices
  • Keep your email address secure (it's your login)

For Account Owners#

  • Use an extra-strong password for the owner account
  • Review the user list regularly
  • Remove users who no longer need access
  • Keep billing information up to date

Common Questions#

Can I change my email address?#

Visit our Support Page for email changes.

Can there be multiple owners?#

No. Each account has one owner. Other users are members.

What happens if I forget my password?#

Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page to reset it via email.

Do all users share the same data?#

Yes. All users in an account see and work with the same inputs, products, and costings.

Can I have multiple accounts?#

Yes. You can create separate accounts for different businesses. Each requires a separate subscription.
